Job Description:

PURPOSE:    Responsible for actively increasing Girl Scout girl and adult membership in all Girl Scout Pathways (Troop, Series, Camp, Event) in an assigned region based on a comprehensive council recruitment plan to meet council membership goals.
 
ACCOUNTABILITIES:   Incumbent is accountable for, but not limited to:
  • Supervise a team to develop and implement comprehensive recruitment plans for assigned service units to meet councilwide recruitment goals, including leading recruitment and outreach teams to implement plans and achieve goals and developing plans as needed;
  • Actively recruit adult volunteers to council to meet council recruitment goals; create and implement recruitment plan for non-parent adults from business, professional organizations, universities and other organizations for placement in volunteer positions across the council, including councilwide volunteer opportunities, Girl Scouting in the School Day, programming opportunities and volunteer-led series;
  • Integrate and coordinate recruitment team's plans with the community engagement team leaders; partner with program and partnerships manager to ensure feedback is integrated into curriculum development;
  • Contribute to development and implementation of comprehensive community development plan for each service unit in collaboration with community engagement team, in the areas of girl and adult recruitment and volunteer management of service unit, cluster, recruiters and school coordinators;
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Leadership:  Models high levels of motivation, performance, dedication and commitment; creates, implements, and/or supports council initiatives, policies and the corporate plan; inspires, encourages, guides, and/or gains others' support toward accomplishing individual, team, council and GSUSA goals; adapts leadership style to a variety of situations.

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in sales and/or marketing, demonstrating success in meeting assigned goals.
  • Minimum of two years' experience directly managing a team of staff and/or volunteers.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with commitment to contributing to the organizational goals.
  • Available to work evenings and weekends.
  • Current valid driver's license and functioning vehicle for work within the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio region.
  • Understanding of the applications of the Girl Scout program, philosophy and policies (may be acquired upon employment).
  • Successful completion of fingerprinting and a criminal background check as required by Ohio law.
  • Commitment to making a difference in girls' lives as expressed in the Ends statements; mission and goals for girls, as noted in the Board Policy Manual.
  • Other requirements as determined by Girl Scouts of Western Ohio.
