Job Summary
The Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for all aspects of administration including servers, desktop systems, communications hardware/software and office system.  The Infrastructure Specialist is also required to be on call on a 24x7 basis. Incumbent may make minor to moderate equipment purchases with proper approvals. Policy, standard, and procedure guide the position; however, incumbent must use judgment in interpreting and adapting guidelines to specific cases. Is expected to utilize bank resources in an effective and efficient manner and make cost benefit analysis decisions.  The area of IT infrastructure is dynamic, always changing, it is incumbent on this position to maintain current knowledge and understanding of changes occurring in this field and to stay abreast of best practice. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • System administration, including back-up, security management, user account management, email systems including email web server, Internet access, office systems and application support.
  • Responsible for administration and configuration of back-up software and hardware.
  • Supports server, network and desktop hardware, software and applications.
  • Performs technology needs analysis.
  • Rolls out hardware and software to ensure optimal deployment of resources.
  • Assist in planning network infrastructure.
  • Implements and supports the network and computing infrastructure.
  • Manages small to medium size projects according to agreed upon budgets and schedules.
  • Assists with technology planning through ongoing research.
  • Use time management techniques to effectively balance project load.
Quality Improvement: 
  • Using data gathered from analytics tools, assist in root cause analysis on high-volume internal issues, recommend and participate in implementation of improvements as appropriate.
Services Continuity:
  • Participate in services continuity planning and testing as required.
Other Duties:
  • May be required to perform the functions of the Security Specialist and serve as a back-up to the IT Vice President as needed.
  • Proactively monitor the Bankers’ Bank Dashboard and address issues and/or escalate as necessary.
  • Support other areas in IT as needed in support of their infrastructure requirements.
  • Participate in forums, user groups or similar to ensure gathering of relevant industry best practices and movement of concepts, products and services in the market.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Job Requirements:

Required Training & Education
  • Experience with 1). Enterprise server virtualization, VMware preferred and/or 2) Linux, Red Hat, and/or 3) SQL. A minimum of one of these three must be met.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as an administrator on a medium sized network of servers, desktop systems and communications devices using current technologies
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking VLAN and multi site topology
  • Experience with SAN technologies
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with off-hours/on-call support as required
  • Demonstrated ability to administer a 200+ node network including firewalls.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of setting up remote access for users.
  • Proficient with Windows Server 2008R2-2012
  • Proficient with Cisco switches and firewalls
  • Proficient with Nagios monitoring tools
Preferred Training & Education
  • CCNA, MCSA or MCSE certification.
  • Degree in Computer Science or related area
  • Knowledge or experience in banking.
  • Knowledge in scripting
  • Knowledge of python, perl, php.
  • BSD experience
  • VDI experience
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to work at a desk in a cubicle, or home office.
  • Must be able to answer telephones.
  • Must be able to communicate with other employees, third party vendors and consultants or clients both face to face, via electronic communication and via telephone.
  • Must be able to move from floor to floor as necessary, when in the bank.
  • Must be able to transport computer equipment throughout the bank or to a data center.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity is required.
