Salary:

Starting hourly wage is $11.00/hour. There is a $0.50/hour shift premium for evening hours (6:00 PM – 12:00 AM), a $0.75/hour shift premium for weekend hours (Saturdays and Sundays), and a $1.00/hour shift premium for overnight hours (12:00 AM – 6:00 AM). per hour

Job Description:

CapTel, Inc. is a communications center on the west side of Madison. Help us provide life changing captioning services (similar to the captions you’ve seen on TV) for those who suffer from hearing loss COMPLETELY BEHIND-THE-SCENES! No direct customer service, no selling, no quotas! Full-time and Part-time positions available, flexible scheduling, and LOTS of advancement opportunities! Primarily responsible for providing quick and accurate captions for telephone conversations of Captioned Telephone clients using voice recognition applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Multitask (hear audio, voice what was heard, proof-read developing captions - all simultaneously).
• Utilize a keyboard by typing proper corrections and other words as necessary.
• Maintain the CapTel Call Center's quality standards for accuracy and speed.
• Monitor technical issues on calls and report to appropriate staff.
• Attend job-appropriate meetings and training sessions.
• Sign and abide by the CapTel Call Center's Oath of Confidentiality, even after employment is terminated.

Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Additional duties as assigned by administration.

Reporting to this Position: No direct reports.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent reading skills.
• Strong voicing skills/voice quality - ability to speak quickly with clear enunciation.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks while focusing on a high amount of attention to detail.
