Job Description:

The Surgery Center, LLC (TSC) is currently hiring a POOL Pre-Op/PACU registered nurse to work a varied schedule and number of hours weekly, based on patient volume. The RN will demonstrate professional/clinical competency, practicing within the nursing Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. The RN collaborates as a team member to coordinate patient assignments, implement a plan of care, and develop/monitor/evaluate outcomes to ensure exceptional quality patient care from admission to discharge.

We serve pediatric and adult patients, performing ~600 cases monthly in G.I., pain, and O.R.

Key Result Areas:

  • Provide safe, therapeutic, and high quality direct patient care in a timely manner, setting appropriate priorities and acting as a patient advocate.
  • Complete patient charting accurately, concisely, and in a timely manner.
  • Communicate appropriate and timely information to surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other team members concerning patient care, previous disease processes, treatments, and medications.
  • Safely carry out physician orders correctly and promptly, documenting all activities.
  • Communicate and interact with patients, family members, and peers in a positive, team oriented, and supportive manner.

The start times of number of weekly hours worked will vary, so you must be flexible. There are no weekend, night, or holiday hours!

Job Requirements:

Education/Licensure: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and hold/maintain a current Wisconsin State RN license.

Certification: Must have a current CPR certification. ACLS and PALS certification are required within 1 year of hire.

Experience: At least 3 years of PACU RN experience is necessary, ideally in an ambulatory surgery center.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Confidentiality, competent and high quality service, true team player, exceptional communication, timely decision making, empathy, patience, and composure when under pressure.
