Job Description:

~~The Department of Revenue (DOR); Division of Technology Services (DTS) is seeking a Chief Information Technology Security Officer (CISO).  This is an instrumental position within DOR whose primary responsibility is to provide strategic and operational security expertise. This responsibility includes defining and implementing the technical security architecture, maintaining accountability for the operational execution of the IT security function, and increasing overall security awareness throughout the organization. This position located in our Madison office.

This position offers the hire a unique opportunity to play a critical role in fostering a culture that places high value on the confidentiality, security, privacy and the integrity of Agency and State information systems and data.  It also allows the person to make a big impact by serving as a key policy advisor to the Division’s management, the Privacy Officer, the Leadership Team, the Legislative Audit Bureau as well as other state and federal regulatory agencies in formulation, determination, and implementation of management policy regarding information security issues.

Minimum qualified candidates will have professional work experience in each of the following:
1. Developing organization wide security policies and procedures.
2. Conducting security audits.
3. Increasing overall security awareness within an organization.
4. Preparing and implementing IT security plans.

Well qualified candidates will have professional work experience in a minimum of two (2) of the following (in addition to the minimum qualifications):
1. Serving as the subject matter authority for an entire organization.
2. Working with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publications (800 Series).
3. Working with the IRS Safeguards Program.
