Job Description:

~~Under the general direction of the Deputy Director of the Bureau of Fiscal Management, this position is responsible for developing fiscal policies, reimbursement methodologies, and cost containment initiatives for the entire Medicaid program. Additionally, the position develops and implements initiatives to maximize federal revenue. The position also includes critical financial monitoring activities including monitoring the Medicaid budget, monitoring and approving check payments to providers, and facilitating federal financial reporting.

Job Requirements:

~~A minimally qualified applicant will have:


•Experience providing fiscal oversight through the monitoring of budgets and expenditures and establishing systems, policies, and procedures to oversee financial operations.

•Experience directing and leading policy development and implementation in a complex, highly regulated organization with a large scope (e.g. statewide or nationwide).

•Strong communication skills, both oral and written, including skill in establishing and maintaining liaison with individuals and groups of diverse interests, as well as experience communicating controversial topics with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.


A well-qualified applicant will also have:


•Experience as a supervisor or manager of subordinate staff, including management of people working in stressful situations, techniques in delegating work responsibilities, and monitoring personnel workload. This includes planning, organizing, monitoring, and directing staff as well as creating a vision, setting overall strategy, being an agent for change, and inspiring and aligning people.

•Experience working in a health care or governmental setting.

•Experience working with the Medicaid budget and/or programs (FoodShare, Badger Care Plus, etc.).
