Medical-Health: Nursing

Job Description:

Administers medical treatments to persons served under physician orders, dispenses and records administration on prescribed medications, and complies with Curative policies and procedures. Requires completion of accredited one year Licensed Practical Nursing Program and current State of Wisconsin license. Obtains and maintains CPR certification. Previous experience working with persons with disabilities/seniors, those experiencing memory loss or significant physical challenges related to significant medical events/disease preferred.

Essential Functions:
•Administers medical treatments to persons served under physician orders.
•Dispenses and records administration of prescribed medications.
•Ability to perform slide and two person transfer of adults with mechanical lift aide.
•Must be able to use mechanical devices to push, transfer and transport adults.
•Works cooperatively with the RN Supervisor in relation to all documentation, training and the files for those under the Veterans Administration contract.
•Prepares and processes necessary paperwork related to quality checks, metrics and audits.
•Case note important information, condition changes, including contact with appropriate persons.
•Develop a positive rapport with all individuals/families in the Senior Services.
•Provide support within the program with eating, transfers for personal care, bathing oversight.
•Assist with SLUMS completions.
•Ensure weights and BPs are documented when required for a specific individual.
•Participate in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
•Assist in development of new procedures in order to improve efficiency.
•Conducts or participates in special projects as assigned.
•All other duties as assigned.

•Licensed Practical Nursing Program and current State of Wisconsin license
•Previous related experience in a healthcare setting, preferred.
•Able to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, and creativity to changing needs and situations.
•Ability to make decisions and solve problems.
•The ability to contribute in a team environment and/or independently, to provide excellent customer service.

Associates or better in Nursing

Previous related work experience in a healthcare setting
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
