Job Description:

The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for monitoring and supervising quality of care and administrative practice.  The position is also responsible for performing all necessary nursing duties within the scope of the RN license, such as:  distributing medications, administering treatments and directing team response to employee or individual health crisis situations.


This position will work an A/B shift rotation (i.e. 7AM - 3:30PM; 2PM - 10:30PM) and as needed. When a weekend or holiday shift is worked, the shift will be ten (10) hours.
Special Notes:   
•Due to the nature of these positions, all applicants will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any convictions may be related to the job being filled.

•All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by NWC or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.

•Ability to work from standing, sitting, kneeling, or stooping positions, as well as ability to bend, reach, squat, climb and twist will be evaluated in the recruitment process.

Job Requirements:

~~In addition to licensure or eligibility for licensure as an RN in the State of Wisconsin, minimally qualified candidates will also have:

•Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or mental illness in a mental health setting (i.e. group home; state institution/facility; community based residential facility; psychiatric hospital; etc.)

•Excellent written and oral communication skills.

•Ability to work weekends, holidays, extra hours, and on-call.

Well qualified candidates will also have:

•Supervisory experience including tasks such as performance evaluations, reviewing and assigning work, resolving conflict, scheduling staff, interviewing or recommending hiring of staff, etc.
