Job Description:

BASIC FUNCTION:  
Overall responsibility for the efficient day-to-day operation within assigned area

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Communicate customers needs to drivers, and other staff 
  • Schedule for optimum performance 
  • Manage performance and ensure on-time, professional delivery of customer shipments 
  • Operations Supervisors also have dispatching and freight monitoring responsibilities 
  • Check drivers in or out for work each day 
  • Use computer system to manage dispatch times and estimated arrival at pick-up and delivery points and ensure on-time delivery of shipments
  • Assist with load, unload and sort as needed.
  • Ensure a high level of customer service.
  • Maintain consistent communication with vendor drivers to help prevent service failures
  • Provide solutions to customer problems in a quick and efficient manner.
  • Any other responsibilities/duties as deemed necessary by your supervisor
